The Peer Leadership Academy will have two tracks: Young Adult Track and Family Track.

Transition to Independence (TIP) Model Training
This 2-day interactive workshop gets audiences thinking differently about how to work with transition-age youth (TAY) with mental health needs. Attendees will learn about key best practices for this age group, including the developmental differences in working with TAY and their families, ideas to incorporate into one's current practices, and collaboration opportunities with other participants.

Pyramid Model Trainings
The Pyramid Model is a conceptual framework of evidence-based practices for promoting young children’s healthy social and emotional development. The Pyramid Model provides guidance for early childhood special education personnel, early intervention personnel, early educators, families, and other professionals.
 
These two, three-day Train-the-Trainer opportunities, hosted by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, in partnership with TAMHO and The Pyramid Model Consortium will provide materials and training for professionals interested in the ability to train others in the Pyramid Model framework and strategies. To apply to attend the Train-the-Trainer training, please complete this link . Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs are stressful or traumatic experiences that disrupt the safe, nurturing environments that children need to thrive. Exposure to ACEs can lead individuals toward the adoption of unhealthy habits and the onset of negative long-term health and economic issues. However, there is hope!
