The Fresh Take Photo Sweepstakes is back - and this year it's celebrating the City's 15th birthday! Photograph what you love about Rancho Cordova and post your photos to the City's Instagram page, Facebook page or via email. Fifteen participants will be randomly selected to win $100! 

The sweepstakes will run from August 20-31, and winners will be announced in September 2018. Tune in to the City's Facebook and Instagram pages to learn more and to follow along with the sweepstakes.

Barrel District Experience: Tickets on Sale
Tickets are now on sale for the Rancho Cordova Barrel District Experience! The event, organized by the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce, will feature all nine Barrel District locations and will include craft beer, spirits and mead, along with food pairings. The event is scheduled for October 6, 2018. Learn more

Poke & Tea, a new Hawaiian-style restaurant has recently opened and is located at 2310 Sunrise Boulevard, #3.  Burgerim , a mini burger restaurant, has also opened and is located at 4040 Sunrise Boulevard, #100.

The City also welcomes the newest member of the Barrel District, Burning Barrel Brewing Company, at 11210 Sun Center Drive, Suite B. 

Construction on the new BDX at Capital Village luxury apartment community continues; however, apartment homes are currently available. Stop in for a tour at 3175 Data Drive.

Register Now for NFL Youth Flag Football

Registration for the new NFL Youth Flag Football League is now open for boys and girls ages 5 to 12.  Register your child by August 26 ; practices begin the week of September 4.  The fee to participate is $90, which includes a NFL reversible jersey, practices, eight games and referees. Learn more

Join the Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) for an evening of food, neighbors meeting neighbors, and fun on Tuesday, August 7.

We are excited to announce that our annual National Night Out Scavenger Hunt is returning! Three RCPD teams will compete against each other to find items and participate in fun activities at Rancho Cordova's National Night Out events. Tune in to RCPD's Facebook page live on Tuesday, August 7 starting at 5:00 PM to watch the competition unfold. 

Meet Zoe, the RCPD Detection K9

The Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) is pleased to introduce you to the newest member of the Youth Services Unit that supports Rancho Cordova schools: detection K9 Zoe!

Zoe is a 20-month-old German shorthaired pointer who is focused, driven, playful and friendly. On July 6, Zoe became certified to California Peace Officer's Standards and Training, which followed a 120-hour training course from Top Dog Police Canine Training Center. She is trained to identify narcotics, firearms, ammunition and explosives to help keep our students and schools even safer. Learn more

Through a partnership with Utrip, Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism has launched a new online tool that allows you to explore Rancho Cordova and customize your experience based off of your favorite eats, lifestyle preferences, budget and other relevant factors. Learn more

New Community Enhancement Fund Projects

Lincoln Village Adult Fitness Center
Thanks to a grant from the City's Community Enhancement Fund, the Lincoln Village Adult Fitness Center is now open and available for Rancho Cordova residents. This project includes outdoor exercise equipment for residents to stay active, build muscle, all while enjoying some fresh air. The fitness center is located at Lincoln Village Park, 3478 Routier Road. 

Students Weld Benches for A.M. Winn Elementary
Funded by a grant from the City's Community Enhancement Fund, students in welding class at Kinney High School welded a bench support structure and artwork for A.M. Winn Elementary. Additionally, Cordova High School's Construction Management Program built wood table benches for outdoor lunch and picnic seating at A.M. Winn. 

New Recreation Guide Coming to Your Mailbox

Be on the lookout for the Cordova Recreation and Park District's Fall/Winter 2018-19 Recreation Guide to arrive in your mailbox. The guide is chock-full of programs, events, activities and information to keep your family recreating and park-going. 

Nominate an "Unsung Hero" for a Ride in a Vintage P-51 Mustang

7UP and Raley's have partnered with the California Capital Airshow to offer a unique opportunity for an "Unsung Hero" from the Sacramento region to ride in a vintage P-51 Mustang. The program is designed to highlight someone that has demonstrated courage and leadership to better our community. The contest ends on August 24. Learn more
