Special Offering Needed

There will be a festal reception for the Archbishop and guests after the Saturday morning service (Fr. Daniel's ordination to the priesthood). We have decided to cater the reception so that we will not be trying to handle two meals in two days on our own. The catering will run about $8 per person. In addition, we will be renting extra tables and chairs. There will be a special offering over the next few weeks to defray these costs. Please be generous. This is a very rare occasion and worth our very best efforts!
September 1-3 - Youth Retreat

The youth from the St. Herman class (ages 13-18) are venturing to Burnsville, NC for a weekend retreat at the Mattingly's rustic mountain cabin over Labor Day weekend. We will depart Saturday morning, Sept. 1 and return early afternoon, Monday, Sept. 3. This is an inaugural event for St. Anne! Ryan Shelton and Adrienne Potter will be leading the weekend and more detailed information will be available this Sunday at coffee hour. If you have kids in this age group, we hope they will join us!
September 9 - Back-to-school/ Sunday School Sunday!

Recognition of grade school and college students returning to the new school year! First day of this year's Sunday School! Blessings for students, and a post-Liturgy luncheon of hotdogs, mac-and-cheese Doritos, and everything kids love!
October 19-21 -- Orthodox Campout in NC
St. Anne's has reserved 3 tent camp-sites for the area-wide Orthodox campout event in Hot Springs, NC, this year – we should be able to accommodate everyone who may want to attend. These are riverside, central campsites. Deluxe Site 459 has w ater and electricity – and can accommodate 2 or 3 tents for those with special needs for electricity (sleep machines). It will also serve as our communal kitchen. Site 461 can handle 2 or 3 tents and has good trees for hammocks, and Site 463 is a group site that can accommodate about 10 tents.

If you intend to attend, please let Anna Freeman know, or use the sign-up sheet at church, so that we can tell how many are going and what the placement of the tents will be. The cost of the sites will be split by those attending. The more who attend, the lower the cost!

The campout is attended by Orthodox parishes in the Carolinas, Tennessee, Georgia and Kentucky. This year, Archbishop Alexander will be attending as well!
