The shelter has been full of buzz over the past couple weeks as we saw over 20 of our foster kittens return to the shelter awaiting spay/neuter surgery and graduation to our adoption area. Dr. Carolyn Karrh joined forces with the Cat Care Society and worked with our clinic and shelter technicians as well as some of our wonderful animal care staff and volunteers to spay/neuter 22 kittens in a matter of four hours! It was an amazing sight to see, and so much fun to witness many our our staff and volunteer team members working together to get these kittens ready for their new forever homes. We also started a new partnership with the Dumb Friends League Solution Clinic allowing us to send our cats and kittens to their state of the art clinic to be spayed or neutered free of cost for us. It has been a wonderful couple of weeks of collaboration with Cat Care and other partners in the Denver-Metro area. A big thank you to all of our staff, volunteers, and local partners for a job well done!

August Promotion
Black Cat Adoption Month
|
August is Black Cat Adoption Month, and we are offering reduced fees on all black cats and kittens. Black cats are very special, and there are many myths and beliefs about them. True, in the Middle Ages they were associated with witches and evil. However, there are many more positive beliefs. British sailors thought they brought good luck and would ensure a safe return in addition to keeping the ship rodent free. In Ireland a black cat arriving on your doorstep indicates prosperity. The Japanese believe that a single woman with a black cat will attract more suitors. Whatever you choose to think, remember that black cats make wonderful companions and loving family members. We have many black cats, and especially lots of black kittens right now. Please come visit!
Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.
Note: our standard adoption screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.

Tomatillo came to us as a feral cat, and is now super sweet and loving. He does have
FIV so he is on our Perpet-U-Care program. He is a little shy at first but is so happy to get lots of head scratches and affection from everyone he meets. FIV cats can live fulfilling and happy lives, and can also be in homes with multiple cats.
You can read more about Tomatillo on his Adopt-a-Pet page:
