Pajaro Valley Arts is excited to announce the opening of our new online gallery Create-In-Place! You are invited to share the artwork, poetry and writings that you have created during shelter-in-place. Your artworks may be inspired by the "shelter-in-place" experience, or it may be unrelated to the corona virus experience.

Create-In-Place! is hosted on the PVA website and is a community exhibit and gathering place where we can acknowledge the challenges of these difficult times; recognize the suffering and stress many are experiencing; and encourage and celebrate the creativity and resiliency within our communities. Please join us!
To share your art, whatever form it takes, email a photograph (jpeg file), audio file or video file to [email protected].  Be sure to include your name and the title of your piece in your email. We will post images as they arrive, so send us something today. All ages are welcome to participate! Please share this invitation with family and friends.

To see the artwork currently on display please visit Create-In-Place!
 on the PVA website.

Thank you and stay safe.

Thank You!

You might be wondering how we are weathering the current shelter-in-place orders. Our staff and volunteers are hard at work to bring you virtual programming, public projects, and future gallery exhibits. We have the ability to pay staff right now because of the generosity of  Arts Council Santa Cruz in the form of an emergency grant and the fine work of Santa Cruz County Bank, in the form of a Payroll Protection Program loan. A huge THANK YOU for their support of and belief in our mission to bring the community together through the arts!

Campesinos: Workers of the Land
TBD - August 2, 2020
Work by Arleene Correa Valencia

Currently The PVA Gallery is closed. We plan to reopen as soon as our shelter-in-place order and Covid-19 business restrictions are lifted.

We invite you to take the Campesinos: Workers of the Land   virtual tour or any of the virtual tours we have posted to our website for the last three years.  If you would like a more detailed look at the individual pieces, check them out in our online galleries.

For those of you with kids, viewing artwork is part of the state and national arts core curriculum as it can help students respond to artwork by perceiving and analyzing content while interpreting intent and meaning; and connect artistic ideas and works with societal, cultural, and historic context to deepen understanding. After taking the tour, ask your kids what they saw, felt, and learned. Perhaps they would like to create their own piece of artwork inspired by one of the pieces they have seen. Email a photo of their artwork to us to us, and we will post it in our new online gallery. Perhaps an image will inspire your kids to sing, dance, or write a poem.
