Ali Herman,
krM Architecture
VP of Advocacy

4L. How many years have you served on the IIDA Indiana Board? AH.  I am going into my 2nd year on the board. I have been on various committees and the Indianapolis City Center for the 4 years prior to joining the board.

4L. What are your main responsibilities on the board and how long is your term as VP of Advcacy? AH.  My VP of Advocacy position is a 2 year term. I am responsible for the legislative and regulatory affairs of the chapter. Anything from programs about advocacy to knowledge about licensing issues and laws to NCIDQ prep and more.

4L. How long have you been with krM? AH.  A little over 3 years

4L. 3 Words to Describe IIDA... AH.  Fun, educational, networking

4L. What does IIDA mean to you or what is the greatest part about IIDA? AH. To me, IIDA has been a great way to get involved in the design community and get to know more about our profession. I have learned a lot of things as the VP of Advocacy about how our laws and regulations work and what all goes into the political side of this industry. I never really understood what I was getting myself into with this position, but I am so grateful for the opportunity and have gained so much more than I ever thought possible.
