Dear FVS Community,

Graduation week is here and on Thursday, we’ll kick off the festivities with our Baccalaureate Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. MDT, and then continue on Friday at 7:00 p.m. with the main event—Commencement. The link to join is at the end of this email.

I hope that you will be able to join us for both, as these two events celebrate not only the Class of 2020 as a whole, but also recognize the accomplishments of individuals through our departmental awards and then the School’s highest honors.

Seniors Lucy Vigneri and Gabe Ashby have cooked up an entertaining senior address, and we will also hear from faculty member Rob Gilbert who was chosen by the Class of 2020 to deliver the Baccalaureate address, and then Veronique Richardson ’02, our Commencement speaker.

Over the past week, we’ve been celebrating our seniors on social media, and I’m grateful to all the students, teachers, parents, grandparents, and alumni who have sent messages of congratulations. I encourage you to check into our Facebook page or Instagram feed, and if you’re inspired to join in, please send your video to communications@fvs.edu

Also on our social media, the FVS College Counseling Office has collected photos of seniors dressed in gear from the colleges they plan to attend, highlighting the diversity of interests and aspirations among our seniors. Seniors, if you still wish to send in a photo and have not been able to yet, please send it to communications@fvs.edu

Last, I want to call your attention to two important upcoming events. Virtual Spirit Day takes place this Thursday, May 21 and we hope to flood our social media with photos of the FVS community wearing FVS spiritwear. Put on your best FVS gear, snap a picture and send your photo to communications@fvs.edu to take part. Then, on May 29-30, we will hold our first-ever Virtual Reunion and Giving Day. Look for further details in an email tomorrow and make plans to join us as we celebrate this wonderful school and all that we’ve accomplished in the past 90 years.

I look forward to having all of us come together over these next two weeks to celebrate the Class of 2020, to support this wonderful School, and to close out a year that we will not soon forget. In the meantime, please know that I am sincerely grateful for your partnership throughout this spring as we have worked together to turn challenges into opportunities.

As always, take good care, stay safe, be well, and tune in on Thursday and Friday!

Sincerely,

William Webb
