Dear Colleagues,
We understand that this is an incredibly challenging time for everyone in the world, but perhaps even more so for healthcare providers and other essential workers in the community. In an effort to help everyone prioritize self-care and well-being during these times, we have highlighted some resources in the
From the Field section. Additionally, finding time to connect with a supportive network of colleagues and friends is equally important. For those that are able, we encourage you to join us for this month's Work-In-Progress Call and Quarterly LHD Check-In. (More information available in the
Upcoming Events section.)
And finally, we wanted to update you all about a staffing change. As of May 11, Jessica Davidman, Champion Provider Fellowship Administrative Coordinator, has moved into a new role within the UCSF Division of General Internal Medicine. She will primarily be utilizing her incredible skills and talents to support the Residency Director of the San Francisco General Hospital Primary Care Internal Medicine Training Program (SFPC). We feel incredibly lucky to have worked with Jessica for over two years and are excited about her new opportunity. For all program related inquiries, please continue to contact Alana Pfeffinger at

Prev Chronic Dis 2020;17:190296.
This study evaluates adherence of California’s
2010 Healthy Beverages in Child Care Act (AB 2084), which has the following provisions:
- required to serve only unflavored low-fat or nonfat milk to children aged 2 years or older
- no more than one serving of 100% juice daily
- no beverages with added sweeteners
- ensure that drinking water is readily accessible throughout the day
Although the evaluation found overall increased adherence at four years compared to a study conducted shortly after the policy went into effect, "more than half of sites were not adherent to all 4 beverage provisions and one-quarter did not make drinking water easily accessible throughout the day."
