This study evaluates adherence of California’s 2010 Healthy Beverages in Child Care Act (AB 2084), which has the following provisions:
  1. required to serve only unflavored low-fat or nonfat milk to children aged 2 years or older
  2. no more than one serving of 100% juice daily
  3. no beverages with added sweeteners
  4. ensure that drinking water is readily accessible throughout the day
Although the evaluation found overall increased adherence at four years compared to a study conducted shortly after the policy went into effect, "more than half of sites were not adherent to all 4 beverage provisions and one-quarter did not make drinking water easily accessible throughout the day."

This French film (English version, Globesity , coming soon) focuses on the role that the modern food system plays in engendering obesity and type 2 diabetes. The f ilm is in French but many of the interviews are in English.
One of the patients profiled in the film receives their care Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
