Shine your Glowstick* and hear the
Final Shofar Blast
Wednesday, October 9 at 6:30PM
I don't have a lot of memories of my own childhood during the High Holidays. A vague recollection of skipping out of Junior Congregation, hanging out in the back lobby of the social hall, my mother's noodle kugel with raisins and the final Tekiah Gedolah at the end of Yom Kippur.
My parents would bring us home after the morning break and we'd return to synagogue in time for the end of the Ne'ilah service, Havdalah and the final shofar blast. And when our kids were younger, we did the same thing. We'd break the fast a little early, put pj's on the little ones and head back to shul. They'd join in the singing and feel the warmth of the Havdalah candle and then hear that final Shofar blast. I've carried that memory with me for decades, and invite you to help create those memories for your children or grandchildren.
The final shofar blast is at 6:50PM on Wednesday night. We look forward to welcoming your kids at 6:15 (with our without pj's) so we can *distribute glow sticks and be ready to join everyone in the Main Sanctuary for the conclusion of Yom Kippur.
