If your student(s) would like to attend an event, please select the activity for more information and to complete the sign-up.
Shepherd of the Hills Homestead Adventure Park
If your student is signed up to attend Sheperd of the Hills on
Wednesday
, we will meet at 9:00 a.m. behind the outreach center and plan to return by 4:00 p.m. (This is 30 minutes earlier than we previously shared because we need to have the vans back for Church at the Center.)
The restaurant at Shepherd of the Hills is not ready for customers so we will be ordering pizza from a near by Dominos and will have water and chips for the students.
The cost of lunch will be $5 per person. Please have your student pay Tim or Jayne on Wednesday. There is a gift shop on the property that will have snacks, drinks and other items. If your student will want to purchase anything, please send additional spending money with them.
All students attending this activity will
need to complete the
SUMC Waiver
, the Vigilante Extreme Ziprider Wavier, and the Ropes Course Waiver. Students under 18 must have these
waivers
signed by a parent or guardian and turned in to the Youth Team to be able to attend this event. Please send the completed waiver with your student on Wednesday.

Wednesday Night Youth Worship
Parent/Youth Open House
As we prepare to start the new school year, we would like to spend some time in fellowship with our youth families and show you want a typical Wednesday evening looks like for the students. We would like to invite you and your entire family to join us on Wednesday, August 15, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Youth Room.
During this time, we will have:
- Dinner
- Informational tables
- tentative schedule of upcoming youth events
- entertaining games
- explanation of youth worship experience
- and prizes!

Wednesday Night Worship
Wednesday Night Worship begins Wednesday, August 22.
All students in 7th grade - High School are invited to join our Youth Ministry for Wednesday night worship. Will meet in the youth room on Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Join us for dinner, some amazing worship, a short and intentional message, small group breakouts, and entertaining games! Learn what it means to love and follow Jesus by studying Scripture, and talking to your friends and leaders throughout the school year about faith-based topics.
Wednesday Night Dinner Volunteers
As we are preparing the Wednesday night worship schedule for the fall semester, we are looking for parents to support our Wednesday ministry by volunteering to provide dinner. We are so appreciative of those who volunteer to provide dinner for Wednesday Night Worship. Many of our students come directly from extracurricular activities. After a busy day of school and activities, the students appreciate the meals that are waiting for them before we kick-off the evening.
It is helpful to drop off food at 5:45 p.m. at the Entrance C (the gym entrance). If you texting Tim or Jayne when you arrive we send students down to help carry the food upstairs. Please plan to feed an average of 70 students/leaders.
We realize that thinking about preparing food for 70 people can seem intimidating and we do encourage parents to work together. If you are interested in helping prepare a meal and would like to pair up with another parent, but need some help connecting with another parent please let
Jayne know.

Confirmation
Confirmation class will begin on Sunday, April 19, at 9:40 a.m. and meets in the youth area. Confirmation is a place where young teens will explore the height and depth, width and breadth of the love of God for us in Christ Jesus and God's church. This is a time for students in 7th & 8th grade to explore the history of the Christian faith, and go deeper into what it means to be a member of Schweitzer UMC. Confirmation is a 2-year class that meets on Sunday mornings in the Youth Area at 9:40am. The doors to the youth area open at 9:15 a.m. for
fellowship
time before class begins.
High School Sunday Morning Class
The High School Sunday morning class begins on Sunday, August 19, at 9:40 a.m. and meets in the youth area. The doors to the youth area open at 9:15 a.m. for fellowship time before class begins.
