The base course of asphalt is down on Warrington Court and Warrington Drive, while removals are underway on Lynwood. Crews may also head to Edinborough Lane and Inverness Court next week to begin concrete curb removals and replacements.

The contractor will be pouring new concrete curbing along the north side of the Industrial spur road this week. The large, four-sided box culvert was placed and crews will start the process of backfilling the area. Over the next couple weeks, the contractor will concentrate on the remaining cuts and fills along the new Crescent Boulevard at Grand River Avenue as well as beginning the removals and replacements of the existing concrete at the intersection of Novi Road and Crescent Boulevard.

The contractor has closed Flint Street (gravel portion), from Grand River to Novi Road. A bulk of the earthwork and grading will take place over the next few weeks. DTE has arrived on site and is beginning to erect new power poles for the utility switch over.

The contractor has completed the milling of the existing concrete on Cabot Drive, Lewis Drive and Trans-X Drive. Over the next few days, the contractor will be repairing all of the exposed and opened joints in the milled surfaces. The first course of new asphalt pavement is going down this week or next.

The contractor has several shafts constructed for proposed sanitary manholes along Nine Mile which has choked the roadway down to one lane in several areas. Area residents and motorists need to use caution when driving in these areas. Construction of the storm sewer network at Nine Mile and Garfield Roads is now complete. Open cut sections, west of Garfield, have begun as well.

The contractor reopened the West Park Drive bridge and closed the Meadowbrook Road bridge on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The contract has begun preventative maintenance on the under side, providing new approach concrete and epoxy coating the bridge deck on the Meadowbrook Road bridge. This work should take about two weeks. The final bridge closure is Cranbrooke Drive.

The contractor has completed paving and striping of the southbound Haggerty Road right turn lane. The 14 Mile and Haggerty intersection was fully reopened to traffic on August 23. Underground crews are on-site installing new conduit for the eventual mast arm traffic signals. Restoration will be forthcoming over the next couple weeks. Crews will also be mobilizing to the Beck Road/Pontiac Trail intersection early next week to begin installing new sidewalks, pedestrian push buttons and traffic signal conduits. After this work is complete, we will have to wait nearly 26 weeks for the delivery of the mast arms and poles.
