Here is an update of what is happening at
House of Prayer this week!
Worship This Sunday!
The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13

The New Testament does not have a lot of information about leadership in the church. There is no instruction manual for pastors, bishops, or lay leaders. This passage from Ephesians is one of the few insights given for leadership. This structure tells us that there are five different kinds of leadership needed: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors (shepherds), and teachers. Each of these gifts are needed for the church to fully function and an over reliance on one type of gift will cause the Body of Christ to grow abnormally. All of these gifts help equip the saints for ministry. In other words, we all have a ministry; we all have a calling to serve God's mission. Join us Sunday as we dig deeper into the leadership needed in the church and how you play an important role.

VBS is Over - Thank You!
Many thanks to everyone who helped make VBS so successful again this year, especially Heidi Thomas for coordinating it and to all the crew leaders, station leaders, dinner volunteers, and of course the parents who got the kids there each night and played the CD on constant repeat all week :) Thank you also to the kids and families for participating in our efforts to support Camp Noah, a day camp to support children in communities effected by disaster. We raised over $300 to donate toward children's supplies at camp and we also made over 100 birthday cards to send to kids! We could not have done any of this without the work of so many awesome people so thank you to everyone!
