Home to world-class faculty and students, it’s no surprise that many seniors in the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences have post-graduation plans in place before they receive their diplomas.
 
From jobs at leading companies to graduate programs at top universities, new alumni are putting their educations to work.

A new study provides the first evidence of how the human brain recovers the ability to function after losing parts of the visual system.
 
The researchers report on three years of behavioral and brain imaging tests on a nearly seven year-old boy — "UD" — who had a third of the right hemisphere of his brain removed in an attempt to control seizures.

Interdisciplinary at its core, the 2018 North American Summer School in Logic, Language and Information came to the place where collaboration across disciplines is second nature: Carnegie Mellon University.
 
Organized by the Philosophy Department, NASSLLI was a an opportunity for students to explore areas from logic and computer science to formal epistemology and cognitive science.

Alex Arkhangelskaya (DC ’14) has always had a vision. After graduating with a degree from the Statistics & Data Science Department, she knew she wanted a career in the tech industry.
 
First, Arkhangelskaya worked for Freddie Mac in a one-year IT development program. That experience took her to an operations product team at Wayfair.
