Afterschool Quality Coaching Book Study

This virtual course is your how-to toolkit for building & sustaining a coaching practice that helps supervisors in afterschool settings how to coach their staff to continually improve the quality of their program. Training time is 12 total hours (6 hours instructor-facilitated discussions and 6 hours reading & homework assignments. Participants will receive 2 publications with their $50 registration fee- Get some GUTS, Coach by Jill Jackson ($14.95 value) and How to Coach Teachers to Teach (Almost) Anything ($95 value). State Advocacy Institute on Youth Homelessness
October 24 | Bismarck
ND Department of Public Instruction has contracted with SchoolHouse Connection to provide the State Advocacy Institute on Youth Homelessness. Prior to the Institute, a needs assessment will be conducted in the area of youth homelessness. If your afterschool program works with youth who are homeless, please share the survey link. Youth taking the survey can receive a $10 gift certificate by contacting Patricia Julianelle, as well as stipends for youth to attend the Institute.
Trauma Sensitive Schools Training of Trainers

This curriculum is a composition of five modules related to trauma; how trauma manifests in the classroom; the neurobiology of trauma & resilience; effective strategies to assist students experiencing the effects of trauma; understanding secondary effects of trauma; and creating a trauma-informed school culture. ND Early Learning Standards Birth to Kindergarten Online Training Series available starting September 15. Face to face training locations on the New Early Learning Standards Birth to Kindergarten include Minot on September 28, Williston on October 5, Bismarck on October 19, and Mayville on October 26.
