First Hand Account of 9/11 Aftermath Shared As Hunterdon Gathers To Remember

Hunterdon County’s law enforcement and first responders community joined with Sheriff Fred Brown and other officials and heard a first-hand account of the scene at Ground Zero in 2001 from a New Jersey Task Force 1 emergency responder, at the County’s September 11 th Remembrance Ceremony on the steps of the Historic Courthouse in Flemington, Wednesday. Special guest speaker Gary Breuer, who responded to the World Trade Center site on September 11, 2001, as a member of the New Jersey State Police’s Office of Emergency Management Task Force 1, recounted his view of events for those assembled at the Remembrance event. Forty Area Employers With Available Jobs At Hunterdon County Job Fair September 25th

More than 40 area employers with job openings are scheduled to attend the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board’s Hunterdon County Job Fair on Wednesday, September 25 th from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Hunterdon County Complex Assembly Room, at 314 Route 12, Raritan Township. “The quality of companies that will be represented at the Fair demonstrates the diversity and strength of the Hunterdon economy and the jobs available represent genuine long-term opportunity for the local workforce,” commented Hunterdon County Freeholder Matt Holt, the Board’s Liaison for Economic Development, “We really are fortunate to have the corporate citizens that we do.”  Click here for more information. Freeholders Told Court Ruling A ‘Big Setback’ For Penn East Pipeline

The attorney representing Hunterdon County in the PennEast Pipeline’s suit to condemn state-owned properties, told the Hunterdon County Freeholder Board Tuesday evening that a Federal Appeals Court ruling against the pipeline company earlier this month is ‘the first big setback they’ve had.’ Attorney Timothy Duggan of the Stark and Stark law firm in Lawrenceville said, “The third circuit court of appeals found that Penn East cannot sue the state of New Jersey in federal court, and the state is now dismissed from 43 cases and Hunterdon County is in about 20 of those cases. Hunterdon Freeholders Proclaim September As National Preparedness Month To Raise Public Awareness

The Hunterdon County Freeholder Board proclaimed September as National Preparedness Month, at the September 3rd Freeholder meeting, supporting the national effort to raise awareness about the importance of emergency preparedness, in homes and communities. Hunterdon County’s Emergency Management Team encourages citizens to make plans with and for their family members for shelter and to have 72 hours’ worth of supplies for each family member should life supporting services be disrupted.  Click here for more information on Preparedness.
