Praise: Join us in thanking God for fruitful peace efforts within Ethiopia. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2019 in recognition for his work on the peace agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea. Prayer: Join us in praying for significant impact from BWAid hunger relief grants sent earlier this year in response to COVID-19.

Join us also in prayer for the people of Eritrea. There are many prisoners of conscience and religion, including Christians. Please pray for religious freedom efforts to prevail.

Rev. Everton Jackson has a long history of involvement with the Baptist World Alliance, including his role as BWA Regional Secretary / Executive Secretary & Treasurer for the Caribbean Baptist Fellowship since 2010.  On July 1, he officially transitioned to his new role at the Baptist World Alliance as Director of Integral Mission. His experience and wisdom will be invaluable as he focuses on the BWA’s core ministry area of evangelism and mission. He will also provide administrative oversight and leadership in the areas of religious freedom, human rights, and justice as well as theological reflection and transformational leadership. Pictured is a time of prayer at the BWA March Executive Meeting earlier this year after his appointment was first announced. We invite you to join us in continued prayer today for Rev. Jackson and his family as they begin this new season of ministry.

Would you continue to join me in prayer for Baptists in Nis, Serbia? They are working to find a solution as they are on the verge of losing a building that houses their church, the Balkan Theological Seminary, and their Love Your Neighbor humanitarian office. Would you pray that local authorities might be more understanding of their case and that a sustainable path forward can be quickly realized?

A Prayer for Eritrea Thank you, dear Jesus, for being a good shepherd to all believers. When we are lost from your flock, you never sleep until you bring us back, and there is rejoicing in heaven and on earth. Our daily shepherd, our defender, our protector, thank you for keeping us from all evil, from fearful, harmful things and for preserving us from all unbelief. In your name we pray.
