Youth  Apprenticeship  Students
Congratulations to the 16 Oshkosh Area School District students who completed a Youth Apprenticeship during the 2017-2018 school year. Wisconsin's Youth Apprenticeship program is part of a statewide School-to-Work initiative designed for high school juniors and seniors who want hands-on experience in an occupational area at a work site, along with classroom instruction. This program combines academic instruction with mentored on-the-job learning. Students work a minimum of 450 paid hours, while earning high school credits, along with gaining career exploration in their chosen fields. The students that participated in the Youth Apprenticeship program in 2017-2018 gained experience in the following areas: Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Technology, Finance, and Health Care. Thank you to the employers and mentors who worked with these students and helped to provide such valuable experiences!
