Greetings from Ventura,

ADOMA's 42nd Annual Education Conference 2018 is in the record books. It seems to take forever to plan and then *POOF*, it's over.

As you all know, this year we ventured outside our comfort zone of Southern California and took our act on the road to Las Vegas and the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa Resort. The South Point resort was beautiful with lots of amenities and plenty of space for us.

OC Theft Ring Targets Used GM Trucks

Thieves make copy of dealership key to steal trucks,

then resell online

Recently there have been thefts of used trucks from dealership lots in Orange County. Working with the Orange County Auto Theft Taskforce, it is believed that a sophisticated ring of 40-60 auto thieves from Texas have relocated to Southern California.

Threatened tariffs threaten dealers
Impact on future dealer investment

Dealers are justifiably concerned with possible tariffs on imported vehicles and vehicle parts. Although efforts are underway to push back on the 20 or 25 percent import tariffs threatened by President Trump, the rulemaking process is proceeding rapidly, and there is no predicting what the President will ultimately do.

Job Description: Multi Dealership Controller opening in Farmington NM. This is a small community with approximately 40,000 residences. Position pays in the 100,000 range with a full benefit package. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of accounting management experience at a new car automotive dealership that retails 150 units. Small community so employee development and retention is critical to the success of this position. The ideal candidates will have a working understanding of all accounting duties and responsibility. Excellence communications skills with the ability to working with all levels of management is critical. This person will be an integral part of the management team moving forward.
