A Celebration of Kerri and Jen's Ministry
Greetings!

Saint Gregory's has been blessed with the bittersweet task of being "a parish of learning and sending." Over the years, Rev. Kerri Meyer has served the SGN community as Seminary Intern, Interim Family Minister, Lay Associate for Ministry, Deacon, and now Associate Rector. For more than a decade, Kerri has both shaped and been shaped by SGN, but following the Spirit is a curious thing that leads to surprising places.

Kerri and Jen, through prayerful contemplation and discernment, have been moved to continue and expand and reinterpret our ministry of liberation through food. The Spirit rarely takes us where we planned to go, and for Kerri and Jen, the Spirit has guided them to a fruit farm in Minnesota where they have been called to plant a church.

Join us this Sunday to help celebrate Kerri and Jen's time with us and learn more about Good Courage Farm and their goals for this new adventure (and wish Kerri a happy 45th birthday)! Kerri will preach and preside over the Eucharist at both services, with the 9:30 AM Adult Forum focusing on their upcoming church plant and the farm. Additionally, during both services a special collection will be taken as a gift to Kerri and Jen's nascent ministry in Minnesota.

Join us Sunday for this day of celebration and farewell, as we call on Jen and Kerri to go in peace to love and serve the Lord.

Peace,
Brian

Ministry with and for Kids and Youth
Godly Play Class
We had a rich, open-hearted conversation about our hopes for and commitments to faith formation in the lives of St. Gregory's young people. If you missed the meeting, you can find narrative minutes here .

Lynn Dolce and Randy Bowman are in the early planning stages of another opportunity to continue and deepen this discussion, perhaps in a dedicated retreat. Stay tuned!

Our storytellers look forward to working with other adult Door Persons as we gear up to start Godly Play in early October.

One Last Thing...

Join us for SPACE TO CREATE this Friday, September 13, 6:00 - 8:30 PM in the Rotunda.

The vision of Space to Create is a community space, facilitated by teaching artists, to provide a physical space and scheduled time - space in one’s schedule and space in one’s head - to create. A night of improv and theater games, once a month, led by Marianne Philipp, is the idea to inaugurate the space.

Workshop schedule will be 6:30 - 8:00: Improvisation led by Marianne Philipp; 8:00 - 8:15: personal reflection; 8:15 - 8:30: shared reflection. Since we will be asking working artists to lead us in these adventures, we'll have a jar out to recognize our teacher for the evening workshop with a sliding scale gift of $0 - $50.

For information on the time we will spend together, please contact Marianne Philipp at  mrvphilipp@yahoo.com . Please join us on September 13, 2019 at 6:30!
