PTO Membership Drive

Everything is online and super easy! Our membership goal is 100% parent participation.  Any amount is appreciated and every dollar counts.  Also, remember that only PTO members will receive access to and be listed in the PTO member directory.

All money donated to the Family Donation Drive will go directly to our school.  In addition to supporting classroom activities and teacher development, money raised this year could go towards installing an outdoor classroom - something similar to this.  It's up to you!

Don't forget to download the Membership Toolkit app after you join the PTO for easy access to the online PTO directory.

Contact us at dogwoodelempto@gmail.com with any questions.

PTO Donation Drive

Don't forget, any family that joins the PTO and donates $50 or more will receive a Dogwood yard sign to show their school spirit.  Yard signs will be available for pick up on Thursday, August 29th in the morning from 8:30 - 9:30 am and again that same afternoon from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.  We will have two locations for pick up - in the lawn at front door with the Front Door Walkers and at the back near the portables.

The class in each grade with the highest amo unt of donations through Tuesday, August 27th will get to pick a day to wear CRAZY SOCKS and their teachers can wear JEANS!!  Join in the fun and donate before Tuesday!  If you have already donated then your donation will be counted for yo ur child's class. And family donations will count toward each child's classroom.  Make sure you have added your child's teacher to your family profile so that their class gets credit for your donation.
My School Bucks

The following items will remain available on My School Bucks for purchase until Saturday, August 31, 2019:
  • Instructional Fee $30
  • Class T shirts $10
  • Spirit Shirts $20
  • School Calendar $5
This is your last opportunity to purchase your child's class t-shirt, which is required.  This shirt will be worn for events such as class trips and field day.
Morning drop-off

Now that our Dolphins have had 2 weeks to acclimate to their routine and become familiar with their new classrooms, we ask that parents please not walk their children to their classrooms. Your child can be walked up to the entrance of the school.  This is for the safety and security of our students.  Thank you for your cooperation.
Cameron Smith Drive

Dogwood Drive is now Cameron Smith Drive thanks to The Strain Family, who won the privilege of naming the driveway during this year's DolphinFest! Mrs. Cameron Smith, who taught at Dogwood Elementary School 1978-2004, taught both Sarah and Ryan Strain their Kindergarten years. Pictured: Robert and Cameron Smith with Sarah and Ryan Strain.

Box Tops for Education

The class who has earned the highest amount from August 12th- September 27th will earn a pizza party!

Log in to  Box Tops for Education, go to "School Earnings", then "Your Activity".  Just print this sheet out and turn it into your child's teacher.

If you have more than one student, this sheet will count for all of their homerooms; just send in the sheet with each child.
Kindergarten Lunch Helpers

Our cafeteria staff could use some extra hands during lunchtime to assist our newest Dolphins with opening lunch items, distributing utensils, etc. We would love to have some volunteers during the kindergarten lunches during the first few weeks to help them out!

Please  sign up here if you can volunteer your time.

As Fridays are the busiest day in the cafeteria (pizza day!), we can use even more helpers to assist o ur kindergarteners. Please sign up here if you can help on Pizza Day!

Thank you for supporting Dogwood!

A Message from your School Counselors

New Dogwood Parents:

We are so excited to have your child as a part of our Dogwood family. Hopefully, the first week has been a pleasure. Additional opportunities are available for your child to become more familiar with the school environment and offer support during this transition. This is also a great way for your child to connect with other new students in a smaller setting. New student groups will be starting within the next two weeks meeting once a week for 30 minutes. These sessions will last approximately four weeks.

Please contact Brandi Fitchpatric or Natalie Adkinson, school counselors, at 752-7946 for additional information.
Health Room Volunteers Needed!

The Nurse's Clinic is a busy place!! We can help ease the traffic by volunteering in the Health Room to provide assistance with simple needs such as band-aids, temperature checks, and/or a phone call to a parent. This helps Nurse Maddie to be more available to students that require a skilled nurse.  Medical experience is not required to volunteer.

Shifts run from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, but we are happy to have your help even if for a shorter time frame (just leave a comment when you sign up). Please consider signing up for a shift and let's try to get the Health Room staffed through the end of the year! Thank you for supporting Dogwood!

Shout Outs!

Thank you to everyone who has joined the PTO and donated to the Family Donation Drive!  Your support of our students and teachers is amazing.  Our school community is strong because of you!

Shout out to Katie Laird and the PTO Teacher Treats committee for providing our teachers with delicious Nothing Bundt Cakes to welcome them back for the second week of school.

Thank you to Paula Bailey, the PTO Beautification chair, who takes care of our flower pots at the school entrances.  You may have noticed that Paula painted the flower pots at the main entrance to match the new blue doors to the school.   It takes a lot of watering to keep those flowers so beautiful in this heat.

The Dogwood community is the best!! There are so many people who serve our students, teachers, and families so well that we would like to recognize them more publicly throughout the year. If you have a shout out for a student, teacher, parent, or administrator any time throughout the year, please email it to elizgates@gmail.com.
