The Fullerton College Food Bank is now open an additional day during the week. Students enrolled in three or more units can visit the Food Bank on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 12 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. in Room 1955. The increased services are a result of a new partnership with Pathways of Hope, a local non-profit dedicated to providing access to food, shelter, and housing to those experiencing hunger and homelessness in North Orange County. Pathways of Hope staff are also available at the Food Bank to help connect students other community resources. For more information visit

Fall Mindfulness Activities Offered
Join the Mindful Growth Initiative for the first Mindful Monday session of the fall semester. Professor Amy Garcia will lead the group in a "Mindful Art Walk" through the Art Gallery on Sept. 9 at 12 - 12:30 p.m. in Room 1004. Mindful Mondays are offered weekly to the entire campus community including students, staff and faculty.

Teacher Pathway Program Welcomes 54 New Freshmen to Fullerton College
The Teacher Pathway Program welcomed 54 new freshmen to Fullerton College with a week-long orientation and a trip to Microsoft Corporation in Irvine where they attended Microsoft's Innovative Educator Workshop. The new students, who are now the fourth cohort of the Teacher Pathway Program, will attend classes together over the next two years as they pursue a degree or certificate Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development and Educational Studies.

The FC Leisure Reading Group
Meet new people in a non-classroom setting! The FC Leisure Reading Book Group was formed to encourage students to read for recreation. Through the generosity of the Friends of the Library, students will receive a free book chosen by the student participants. The Leisure Reading Group meets twice monthly on Thursdays from 3-4:30 p.m. The first meetings will be held in the library on Thursday, Sept. 5 in Building 800, Room 827 and Thursday, Sept. 19, in Room 822. Women's Soccer
The women's soccer team took on a strong Mount San Antonio College squad for their home opener on Friday and beat the Mounties 2-1. Regina Sanchez-Molina knocked in the first goal of the game in the 56th minute. The assist was by Morgan Dack. FC went up 2-0 in the 69th minute when Victoria Arrieta fed the ball to Rocio Martinez-Marquez who kicked the ball into the back of the net. The Mounties popped in a late score at the 85-minute mark on a shot by Hannah Grady, but FC held on for the remainder of the game grabbing their second win on the season. Up Next: The Hornets (2-0 overall) will play at El Camino College on Friday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m.
Football
After a dominant season from the Hornets defensive linemen last fall, 10 of them moved on from Fullerton College and signed with four-year institutions to further their playing careers at the next level of college football.

Men's Soccer
The Hornets put one in the win column at home last Friday defeating Glendale College 3-0. FC got on the board early in this one scoring in the 16th minute by Jonathon Aleman. Derek Von Puschendorf delivered the assist. Kyle Thomas put Fullerton up 2-0 in the 40th minute on a nice assist by Ryan Meinardus. The third and final goal of the game came in the 56th minute when Meinardus took the ball off the feed from Izel Smith and placed it into the back of the net. Up Next: Fullerton (1-1 overall) will host Chaffey College on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 3 p.m.
Women's Volleyball
The Hornets opened up the 2019 season at Bakersfield College on Saturday playing in three non-conference matches. In match one, FC knocked off Santa Barbara City College 3-0. In the second match, Fullerton lost 3-0 at the hands of their host Bakersfield. Match three came down the wire as FC and Orange Coast College battled it out in five games with OCC taking the 3-2 win. Up Next: Fullerton (1-1 overall) will travel to Rio Hondo College on Wednesday, Sept. 4 for a non-conference match at 6 p.m.

Wayzgoose
Sept. 5 - Oct. 7, Opening Reception on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 5-7 p.m.
Traditionally a wayzgoose was a gathering held by master printers for their workmen to celebrate the end of the summer and marks the coming months of working by candlelight. Today, a wayzgoose is a term used to describe a celebration or festival where printmakers and book artists gather to share their handmade work and demonstrate their practices.
