Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
New York State has mandated that all those employed in the state be trained for the prevention of workplace sexual harassment by October 9, 2019. This mandate applies to all church employees as well. The Regional Synod of Albany is providing this training as a resource for all churches; pastors, educators, secretaries, members of personnel committees, and other interested parties.

Training will be provided by Rachel Breidster.
Rachel is a change agent and advocate for justice and equity with over 20 years of experience in teaching, professional development, group facilitation, and instructional design. Rachel's educational background in social stratification and educational design, coupled with her subject matter expertise in social welfare, public health, and state government, inform her dynamic approach to engaging learners in productive, memorable, and meaningful dialogue about complex topics that inform and impact the ways that we-and the people we interact with- work, live, and love.
Registration is $10 per person and payable by cash or check at the training.

Christian Educators' Summit 2019
Focusing on the theme: "Knowing You are Beloved" the Regional Synod of Albany presents the Christian Educator's Summit again this fall. Come hear keynote speaker, Rev. Marijke Strong, and partake in workshops centered around the theme. All Christian Educators, Sunday School Teachers, Elders, Pastors, Youth Leaders, Deacons, everyone are welcome to attend!

Coordinator for Disability Concerns Visiting
Terry A. DeYoung, the RCA Coordinator for Disability Concerns, will be in the Regional Synod of Albany during the week of Sept. 16. He is now taking requests for appointments
to discuss welcome and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Update on Rev. Richard Otterness
Dick Otterness is most recently a missionary with his wife, Carol, to the Roma people of Hungary. In his retirement years, Dick has entered into end-stage kidney failure. While dialysis is treating his illness, it is not a cure. He is looking for a living kidney donor, a task made difficult given his blood type. The Regional Synod of Albany joins in prayer for Dick and his care team. Scholarships Available to Mission 2020
Are there young people in your church who have a passion to serve God in mission? In a world hungry for the next generation of leaders, imagine what a blessings they will be for years to come. The RCA Global Mission office wants to be a part of encouraging these young leaders. Scholarships are available for these young leaders to attend Mission 2020. The deadline for this scholarship is September 20, so don't delay in applying.

Do you have a new ministry that needs a little seed money? Is it focused on discipleship, mission, or revitalization?
Apply for a Synod Ministries Grant for up to $1,000.
The grant for can be found
HERE. Once completed, it will be reviewed by the Synod Ministries Board and you will be notified quickly about your request and if your application was approved. Most projects receive funding within a month of their application.
