The Florida VentureTech Showcase is Today!
Don't miss the 2017 Florida VentureTech Showcase from 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. today, Nov. 16 at FAU Tech Runway, featuring Venture Class 1 alumnus and serial entrepreneur Scott Adams as keynote speaker.

The showcase is a capital acceleration competition and business networking event with presentations by some of Florida’s most promising early stage startups, including FAU Tech Runway companies Aquaco Farms and Gaming Frog. The presenting companies will compete for two $25,000 Space Florida Accelerating Innovation Awards, totaling $50,000 in prize money.
Help Child Rescue Coalition Reach 10,000th Arrest
The Child Rescue Coalition, an FAU Tech Runway alumni company, needs your support to reach their 10,000th arrest. The coalition uses technology to protect children from sexual abuse. The organization has launched their new 10 for 10,000 fundraising campaign to help train more officers on their platform. To support their cause, click the link below. The top fundraiser will win a trip for two to the Child Rescue Coalition's annual gala on Fri. Mar. 9 in Delray Beach, Florida. 
ITWomen Leadership Summit
ITWomen, in partnership with FAU Tech Runway, invites you to the inaugural ITWomen Leadership Summit. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Dec. 1 at FAU Tech Runway.

Keynote speakers include Heather Cabot, an angel investor and author of  Geek Girls Rising,  and Angela Sebaly, an entrepreneur and author of  The Courageous   Leader.  Sessions will feature CXO leadership insights, developing a culture of innovation and a startup showcase on FAU Tech Runway female founders.

The ITWomen Leadership Summit is designed to provide women in the tech industry with rich development opportunities. Proceeds will benefit STEM programs for local underserved girls.
ITPalooza South Florida
ITPalooza is an in-depth technology showcase that brings together South Florida’s top IT and tech companies. The event will take place from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Thur. Dec. 7 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale-Broward County Convention Center.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about new technology developments, find solutions to company needs, gain firsthand experience, and network with a unique group of strategic business partners, prospective customers, vendors, industry experts and high-profile speakers. How IBM Boca Raton Influenced the Tech World
The SFTA invites you to join them for "50 Years of Innovation – How IBM Boca Raton Influenced the Tech World" from 5:30 – 9 p.m. on Nov. 30 at Citrix Systems in Fort Lauderdale. This exciting panel will reflect on the inception and development of IBM in Boca Raton. Panelists include:

  • Dave Bradley, Ph.D. – System Architect at IBM from 1975 – 2004 and inventor of the Control-Alt-Delete command
  • Gary Wisgo – Manager and Engineering Designer at IBM from 1976 – 1994, managed the team that developed the world's first smartphone, the Simon
  • Scott Kinnear – Senior Programmer at IBM from 1981 – 1989, went on to become the VP of worldwide products at Citrix
  • Pete Martinez – VP of Global Business at IBM from 1975 – 2007, led a 1,700-person organization during his 32-year tenure
