FUN ACTIVITY - SKY HIGH SPORTS!
A parent let us know of this awesome activity!
"
Sky High Sports, the leader in bouncy entertainment, believes in affordable family fun & fitness. For everyone!
Every Tuesday
Sky High Sports
turns off the music and dials down the distractions for the comfort of our extra special jumpers. From 3pm until 6pm, we welcome children and young adults with special needs and their siblings, family and friends to enjoy an afternoon of bouncy fun.
Each “jumper” is $5 with a parent or therapist free. NBC Bay Area recently profiled the Santa Clara owner of Sky High Sports and this special needs session because Jerry Raymond isn’t just the owner of Sky High, he’s the father of a son with Asperger's.
*Anyone under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Waivers are easily downloadable from our website
HERE
or you can complete it for your own child when you arrive.
*Of course, this isn’t right for every child. Parents know their child’s ability best. A parent or therapist must accompany each child.
*General patrons have the opportunity to jump at the regular hourly price.

3C news!
Wow! What a fantastic ocean and water week! 3C students learned that there are five oceans, that's right, one whole hand of oceans: The Pacific, The Atlantic, The Indian Ocean, The Arctic Ocean, and The Southern Ocean. Students also enjoyed learning about whether objects will sink or float when placed in a tub of water. We did this as a group and the students each had their own bin of water to experiment with objects to see if they would sink or float. Students loved an educational dolphin video, learning the parts of a dolphin: fin, flippers, beak, tail, and blowhole. They also enjoyed a trip to the AAH program where they fed, groomed, and gave water to the animals and also pulled wagons of hay, and stacked big blocks. They also met a new baby chick and then enjoyed lunch at the park. We will end the week with a beach trip! Camp Fun rocks!

Weekly Objectives for Next Week:
Next week is camp themed! Students are encouraged to wear anything related to the theme. The class will discuss and participate in camp activities throughout the week such as, outdoor games, water games, camp stories, and work together to set up a tent on the grass. The class will learn about the wind family of instruments with Ms. Karen during our group music session. At the end of the session, the students will get to use their own wind instrument in the music circle. During group PE, students will practice their basketball hoop skills and passing the ball to each other. The students will end the week with a fun field trip to either the Oakland Zoo or the beach. The students will vote for where they want to go on Monday.

Weekly Accomplishments:
Another great week for the high school class! They had a very successful community outing to Animal Assisted Happiness on Thursday. Students were paired with a volunteer, who helped support them complete the steps. The students learned at least one new job each. Some students learned how to muck the goat stalls and horse pins, a couple students fed and gave more water to the rabbits and guinea pigs. I was so proud of the PE group and their hard work learning how to play T-Ball. They spent Friday afternoon playing games and given the opportunity to play with the water toys.

7/21/19 Sunday - Profession Photo Shoot
Time: 9:00-11:00 am at The Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose. To expand our library with images that represent the disability community, we’re putting together a professional photo shoot on Sunday, July 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 am. You can print the flyer
HERE
. Each family would be given passes to return to the museum, along with a goodie bag. Age range is 2-10 years old. We’ve done a number of photo shoots over the years, so we’re efficient and respectful of people’s time. It’s typically really fun for the kids because they’re just playing in the museum …while getting photographed.
