Fun Fact:
Christmas time is BEACH TIME!
Notice that no one is in the water!
Since December marks the beginning of summer vacation, many Chileans are planning to spend time at the beach!  With 2500 miles of coastline, Chile boasts of many scenic, ocean-side get-aways.  However, don't picture your typical Caribbean "playa".  There are rocky cliffs, choppy waves and icy waters caressing the black sand beaches.  Yes, there are some white sands, but they tend to be in the north near the Atacama Desert.  The central part of the country has beaches best suited for wakeboarding, surfing, or bathing with wet suits, since the max water temperature in the hottest month, February, does not pass 64*F.  Nevertheless, Chilean beaches attract people from around the world.

Prayers & Praise
We thank you for your prayer support! Mission work is first and foremost a ministry of prayer.
* Praise God for working faith in the hearts of Zulu and Jesús. Pray that God would continue to strengthen their faith through His Word and Spirit!
* Pray that God would work faith in Rut, Jhoan, Alexis, Carolina, Mariana, and Carlos.
* Praise God that GLO missionaries Aaron and Yennifer Farrow
(Valparaiso, Chile) have passed the first hurdle for obtaining their resident visas!
* Pray for safe travels for all of the Tino family as we gather in Miami for Christmas this year. Praise God for making this possible!
- Pray that God would lead us to a new location for our ministry here (see article for specific prayer request).

"But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman..." (Galatians 4:4)

It is frustrating to wait. More and more families no longer exchange gifts on Christmas because they just can't wait - the gifts were given long before.
It is increasingly hard for us to understand that some things simply will not happen until the time that God has appointed for them. The birth of Jesus is one example. God came to us in the flesh at the appointed time - not before, not after, but exactly when and exactly then. It was the right time. In our Christmas worship and celebration, a lot of our focus is on the "how" of the incarnation - the virgin birth, the manger, the angels and shepherds as witnesses. In the wonder of the "how", we sometimes miss the "when".
In our lives and especially in ministry, I want things to happen now - and if not right now, then soon. It is easy for me to forget that God is still in control of not just the "how", but also of the "when". What God wants to happen, will happen. At the right time.
The Fullness of Time for Zulu!
Zulu immigrated to Chile for all of the same reasons that so many other Venezuelans do. She was looking for a better  life, which for her meant a stable job, steady income, and a safer environment to raise her children. She found a better life - in Jesus! Zulu came to our church at the invitation of a friend. After some weeks of worshipping with us, she decided to attend my evangelistic Bible study called "Towards a New Life" (Hacia Una Nueva Vida). This 7-week study ends with several questions, such as:
  • Do I understand the message of salvation that the Bible teaches?
  • Do I repent of my sins?
  • Do I believe that Jesus Christ died for MY sins, and for ALL of my sins?
  • Am I willing to allow Him to guide and lead me for the rest of my life?
Zulu read those questions and answered "yes" to each one. As she did so, the tears began to flow as the Holy Spirit filled her heart with faith in Christ! It was the right time.
The Fullness of Time for Jesús!
Jesús is one of the people that we told you about earlier - we prayed for him to find a job, and he got one later that same week. We thank you for keeping him in your prayers! Since the last report, he has continued to worship with us regularly and has been faithful in Bible study and confirmation class. On Sunday December 16 th
Jesús was received as a confirmed member of our church! Praise God!

The Fullness of Time for a New Location?
We thank God for the people that He is bringing to hear the Good News of God's saving moment. Wherever the Gospel is preached, it is God's time to save! Please join us in prayer for those who have been present among us recently, especially Rut, Jhoan, Alexis, Carolina, Mariana, and Carlos. May the Holy Spirit work saving faith in them!contacts
We thank God for allowing us to serve Him in Santiago at this historic time as the unprecedented outflow of Venezuelans to Chile and other parts of Latin America continues!  We love the "mixed" community of Venezuelans and Chileans that God is drawing together here. However, we really need to God to lead us to a new location for our mission. Our chapel space is getting too small, and we are located too far away from the people that we are reaching. You can pray specifically for: a house with a large open space or yard (for the chapel); located near the "Metro Linea 5"; affordable (under 1 million pesos/month). Or that God would move someone to donate a property to the church!

We praise God for each of you,  our "mission partners". As we close out the end of 2018 (and are now into our 5th year in Chile!), our finances are not as stable as we would like them to be. But we know that God is in control and we trust Him to provide for both our needs, and for yours!
