Xaverian Missionaries USA join Catholic groups urging Congress to concentrate on poor, marginalized during pandemic
More than 100 Catholic organizations, primarily religious orders, have sent a letter to Congress urging particular attention to low-income communities and those of color amid the global pandemic...Among the signatories to the list are the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, which organized the effort, the Ignatian Solidarity Network, Franciscan Action Network, Marist Fathers and Brothers, Xaverian Missionaries USA, the Catholic Health Association, and scores of other religious orders in the country. For all who have contracted coronavirus,
We pray for care and healing.
For those who are particularly vulnerable,
We pray for safety and protection.
For all who experience fear or anxiety,
We pray for peace of mind and spirit.
For affected families who are facing difficult decisions between food on the table or public safety,
We pray for policies that recognize their plight.
For those who do not have adequate health insurance,
We pray that no family will face financial burdens alone.
For those who are afraid to access care due to immigration status,
We pray for recognition of the God-given dignity of all.
For our brothers and sisters around the world,
     We pray for shared solidarity.
For public officials and decisionmakers,
We pray for wisdom and guidance.
Father, during this time may your Church be a sign of hope, comfort and love to all.
     Grant peace.
     Grant comfort.
     Grant healing.
     Be with us, Lord.
Amen.

Dancing Our Life,
Spread the Love

Dancing is so much part of our human nature, we might ask ourselves if it is inborn. Haven't you seen small children dance around their very serious looking mothers on their way to kindergarten?

The Bible says: "God created human beings in God's own image: male and female God created them." If it is so natural to us to dance, is it in God's nature to dance? Has it to do with our promised eternal life? Read more of the reflection by Fr. Tony Lalli SX.

Christians and our Muslim Neighbors during Ramadan

We regret that Fatima Shrine remains closed for liturgies in response to COVID-19 and unfortunately Our Lady of Fatima Devotions on the  13th of the Month will NOT begin May 13th due to the stay in place situation.

We invite those in the Boston Archdiocese to join in the Celebration of Eucharist in their homes.

Sometimes we feel like we are in the catacombs, cutoff from each other, but keeping all in joyful prayer. Each morning you are with us in spirit and love.

All the priests of Fatima Shrine are praying everyday for all of you. We will get through this together.

The Way of the Cross
Meditations for Our Days
By Fr. Alejandro Rodriguez, SX

"In that Crucified Lord you will find in all the contingencies of your arduous apostolate, your honor, your glory, and above all your Leader and your Master. With your eyes fixed on Him, and inspired by Him, you will never forget... that your love should gather up in its embrace all, for in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, neither slave nor freeman, but in Him we are all one."
-  Saint Guido M. Conforti  -

Opening Prayer
Lord Jesus, I come to you just as I am. Graciously look upon me, good and gentle Jesus as I humbly kneel before your face. I ask you most earnestly to engrave upon my heart a deep and lively faith, hope and love, and a contrition for my sins, and a firm resolve to make amends. I know it was my sins that caused you to suffer and die on the cross. Please forgive me and with all my heart I am truly sorry for ever having offended you. Please make my heart like yours and never let me be separated from you again. Amen    Pray more with Fr. Alex's blog.

Flood Emergency in Uvira - DR Congo

On April 17, a part of the city of Uvira, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, was submerged by rainwater and spilling rivers. This flood has caused enormous damage. The dead are counted by dozens, the exact number is unknown since many people are still missing, some buried under mud and others dragged by the water into Lake Tanganyika. Roads are broken and bridges washed away; according to official records, over 3,500 houses have been destroyed, and a total of 77,790 people belonging to about 5,500 families affected in one way or another. Even the house of Xaverian Sisters was damaged and it is now uninhabitable. Our house of Kilomoni community, that is on the peripheries of Uvira, was not damaged even though it lies in affected area. We ask your prayers for the relief of those suffering and the repose of the souls of those who have died.
Coronavirus Prayer

Jesus Christ, you traveled through towns and villages "curing every disease and illness." At your command, the sick were made well. Come to our aid now, in the midst of the global spread of the coronavirus, that we may experience your healing love. Heal those who are sick with the virus. May they regain their strength and health through quality medical care. Heal us from our fear, which prevents nations from working together and neighbors from helping one another. Prayer more!
