Village Takes Additional Steps
to Support Businesses
As part of the continuing efforts to support Long Grove businesses, the Village Board unanimously approved an ordinance amending the Village Code to expand Village President Bill Jacob's authority to expedite special event application reviews. This step allows for expanded outdoor seating, temporary signage, and other opportunities that provide more flexibility for businesses to operate during the different phases of the Restore Illinois plan. Overall, it will allow the Village President to make streamlined decisions that are in the best interests of supporting businesses. Several Long Grove businesses have already submitted applications; interested businesses can  click here  to access and submit an online application. Visit this link for a listing of all Long Grove restaurants.
RPC Bridge Update
Both the east and west abutments for the newly constructed RPC Bridge have been completed. Abutments are the foundations that support the bridge; the previous limestone abutments were replaced with concrete to further strengthen the structure. The next steps are to backfill the abutments, remove the steel sheeting, and for the bridge to be moved back into place. Painting of the bridge has also begun.  Please visit  this link for up-to-date information and additional pictures documenting the progress of this project. Weather-permitting, this reconstructions is expected to be completed by end of summer.
Take Time to Complete the U.S. Census!
Care About The Count
Care About The Count
All Long Grove residents are encouraged to complete the U.S. Census if you have not already done so! It's important for every resident to be counted, because these numbers will dictate funding, congressional representation and other community benefits for the next 10 years! The census can be completed online, via the phone or by filling out the paper survey. Visit census.gov for more information.

Please note: Some residents have contacted the Village reporting they received two 2020 Census questionnaires - one with the RFD address and the other with the street name address. It is recommended to submit the street name address questionnaire. If you already sent in your questionnaire under the RFD address, it will still be counted.
