INSPIRE: Women's Leadership Event - 2016 

Join us for the second annual INSPIRE: Women’s Leadership Event, hosted by the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce. This event is a facilitated introspective and interactive conversation on how women grow into leadership throughout their career with a special focus on being or becoming/enhancing leadership in business, government or civic organizations. Whether you are young in your career, are an experienced professional, or are seeking to expand your leadership contribution in any of these areas, come to be inspired and motivate others to take the next step in their leadership roles. The event is open to any woman from the Iberia area who is interested in attending.

 

This year's keynote speaker is Tereson Dupuy, inventor and founder of FuzziBunz.

Tereson Dupuy embodies the very essence of every entrepreneur. Inventor of FuzziBunz Diapers in 2000, she pioneered the modern cloth diaper movement and grew a multi-million-dollar company on a $2,500 investment. She has seen all of the highs and lows many entrepreneurs experience. She appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank in 2012 and later went on to form INFANTC Brands, a brand management company for baby products.FuzziBunz were invented in 2000 in New Iberia, Louisiana as an answer to her infant son’s chronic diaper rash. She has won 4 Entrepreneur of the Year awards for her product as well as her success as an Entrepreneur. Tereson currently lives in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

 

 

The format of the event is engaging and interactive. Sarah Hamilton Berthelot, President/CEO of the Louisiana Association of United Ways will guide attendees through a process in which they create their own customized path to success, giving structure and support to attendee's passions and goals.

Sarah Hamilton Berthelot serves as President and CEO of the Louisiana Association of United Ways, providing collaborative support to seven United Ways. Leading a virtual team, Sarah coordinates opportunities for member United Ways to collaborate on impact, talent development and advocacy efforts. Sarah has worked in the nonprofit sector for 19 years since graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she served as the first elected female president of the Student Government Association.She is actively engaged in the global United Way network as the current Vice-Chair of the United Way Council of States and has served as a content presenter for the United Way Worldwide Conference for the past five consecutive years. She participated in the United Way Worldwide Advanced Leadership Program in 2013. In her volunteer leadership roles, Sarah serves as a board member for the Louisiana Partnership for Children and Families and is mentor for the 705 Young Professional Organization in Acadiana, among other worthy organizations. Sarah has received numerous honors — including being named one of Acadiana’s “Women Who Mean Business” in 2014; recognized as “Lady of the Year” by the Faith House in 2008 and named as one of the Top 20 under 40 in 2007 by The Daily Advertiser.

 

The event will conclude with an invigorating session of speed networking, to ensure that everyone in attendance gets the chance to meet each other.

Ticket price $25, which includes lunch.

Seating is limited. Reservations are required.  (Registrations are sold individually; no table reservations.)
