During the 1880's Boston became the hub of boat design and racing. Boston builders, designers, and sailors built and won the America's Cub for 3 straight years with Puritan, Mayflower, and Volunteer. Hull YC like other important clubs followed the cup closely and was involved. Join us as Bill Bradford recounts the early years of Hull Yacht Club when it was one of the most active clubs in America.
Nantasket Beach Lecture Series is co-presented monthly by the Hull Lifesaving Museum, the Friends of the Hull Public Library, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

SUMMER EXHIBITION
Shining Beacon, Island Home:
Boston Light, 1716 - 2016
Point Allerton Lifesaving Station
1117 Nantasket Ave., Hull
Exhibit runs through September
Boston Light is easily one of New England's most recognizable landmarks. But, America's First Lighthouse is so much more than an icon. It's a technological marvel, with a massive 2nd order Fresnel Lens still shining brightly since its installation in 1859. It's a shining sentinel, offering hope to mariners at the treacherous entrance to Boston Harbor since 1716. And, it's an island home - for generations of Keepers and their families, who faced the joys and challenges of life on Little Brewster with courage and aplomb. Join us for a special look at our new exhibit, Shining Beacon, Island Home, celebrating the 300th anniversary of Boston Light.
