Car of the Week: Alan Slavin's Plum Crazy Dodge Hellcat

Alright, fine, you caught us - this week's Bike of the Week isn't a motorcycle, it's an automobile! We've had these pictures for a little while now, so we give our apologies to Alan for featuring other peoples' bikes first.

Alan emailed us in late February, telling us that he was to become the proud owner of a new 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat in Plum Crazy Purple and that he wanted to break up the matte black of the tires and wheels. He asked what a good color match would be and if there was a better color than regular ol' pearlescent purple.

Things are always a little tough when a customer asks us what color we'd choose - it's a personal choice, and there's really not a right or wrong answer; everyone likes different things. We suggested that he look at one of our customers who had installed Fire Red Rimstripes on his blue Hellcat, which turned out great! (We'll feature that Hellcat next week.) So we thought Fire Red would work well on his purple car, too.

We had one more suggestion up our sleeve, so we gave Alan a list of three colors to choose from:

1 - 6115 Purple Luster - subtle; dark color on a dark surface.
2 - 6032 Fire Red - Classic red-on-black. Pops more than the purple.
3 - 6050 Fluorescent Chartreuse - IN YOUR FACE HIGH CONTRAST

Sometimes it's a good idea to get your friends' advice and see if there's a consensus, and sometimes it isn't! Too many cooks!

Anyway, Alan chose the 6050 Fluorescent Chartreuse. We were dying to see the results and kept bugging him to see if he'd installed the stripes. When winter weather conditions in New England finally got nice enough, he got it done and sent us those pictures.

Thank you, Alan! We think it looks sick!

10,000 Lavazza Stickers

If you've read this far, congratulations! We'll keep this next part short:

10,000 is a lot of stickers.

Our friend Ian Lazar is a fellow motorcyclist, beer connoisseur, and mechanic at Barnett's Ducati/Suzuki here in Raleigh.  He is also an award winning homebrewer and in return for some of his tasty beverages, we make him stickers when he needs them. When Ian needed labels for a recent batch of brew, he had his brother-in-law Craig design a label and we produced them on the big digital printer.

Craig works for TLX, a full service Print, Design, and Promotional Item company in Plainview, NY.  He remembered seeing Ian's beer labels and contacted us wanting to know if we could produce 100 Lavazza die-cut decals.  We said, "Piece of Cake."  So he emailed us perfectly setup vector art and we quickly produced and shipped them up to TLX.

We got another email from him in May this year, asking for a quote on 10,000 more Lavazza stickers like we'd made before. And we heard back on June 7th that we'd won the bid! It took us a week and a half to cut, weed, trim, and package all of those stickers, but we got them all done.

We have no idea what they're putting all of these stickers on, but we're definitely keeping our eyes out.

That's it for this week!
