During the month of May, we take a moment to recognize all the foster parents, families, volunteers, judges, advocates, community stakeholders, child welfare professionals and others who work to make permanent, caring families a reality for children and youth in foster care.
Monthly Update - May 2016
Protecting a teen's health,
now and in the future
Not only do Florida Foster Care Review's citizen review panels function as a critical safety net for children in foster care, but they also evaluate whether short- and long-term health needs of abused and neglected children are being effectively addressed. Nowhere is this more evident than in the lives of the hundreds of older youth who are reviewed each year...
As a volunteer-based non-profit for more than 25 years, Florida Foster Care Review strategically recruits and specially trains community members to serve on our citizen review panels. With the inception of the Permanency Roundtable (PRT) Program, our newest venture to help children and youth in foster care, the essential role of volunteers in pursuing our mission has expanded.
