February is Heart Month!
Telligen is here to help you make small heart healthy changes that will lead to big rewards.
What you Need to Know
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) created an easy-to-read document that explains what heart disease is and who is most at risk for developing it. The document describes warning signs of a heart attack and provides information on prevention.

The CDC also has information to help you control your blood pressure.

Join Telligen and Million Hearts® for an online learning session.
Million Hearts® is a national initiative with an ambitious goal to prevent 1 million heart attacks
and strokes by 2017. The CDC and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services co-lead the initiative on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Telligen has partnered with Million Hearts® to help you:
- Improve your access to effective care.
- Learn about the ABCS of heart health:
Aspirin when appropriate.

Cholesterol management.
Smoking cessation.
- Learn about appropriate medications for the ABCS.

Recommendations for Physical Activity
The American Heart Association wants you to get physically active to prevent heart disease and stroke. At least 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise or 75 minutes per week of vigorous exercise is recommended to improve overall cardiovascular health. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving and burns calories. The simplest change you can make to effectively improve your heart health is to start walking. And remember, something is always better than nothing!

One in 3 American adults has prediabetes, but only 10% of them know they have it. Take a minute for the CDC's So... Do I have prediabetes? quiz to test your risk level and learn ways to reverse it.
