Principal's Message
April 8, 2016
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:

Spring is here! As you walk around the campus, you can see new life everywhere you look. Even the pecan trees are putting on new leaves. The children are enjoying the playgrounds, soccer field, four square area, and gaga pit.  The year-end activities are filling the calendar quickly. But, even so, we are still focused and working diligently to accomplish the academic goals for the year.

Our curriculum renewal process is in full force. Work is being done at each grade level (horizontal alignment) and then between grade levels (vertical alignment). This effort is being coordinated and led by lead teachers in collaboration with all faculty.  A parent meeting to share program highlights was provided to parents of middle school students in March. A meeting for parents of students going into grades one through five is to be scheduled in May  to share with parents a preview of "things to come!"
Our goal is to make the 30 th year at OLQP the best ever.

At morning prayer, the children are being instructed about the importance of praying with reverence. To pray reverently, they need to use their bodies and their voices. Since we pray a decade of the rosary at morning prayer, we are learning more about that beautiful form of prayer. We talked about the meaning of "rosary," which is from the Latin "garland of roses." The children were instructed to pray from the heart with reverence so that their prayers are like beautiful roses for Blessed Mother and Jesus.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,

Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.
Principal
