We would like to encourage you to plan events to celebrate in your classrooms and schools. You can also extend your celebrations through the entire month of April and designate a theme for each week.
Join NJAEYC Northwest in encouraging local governments to recognize the importance of early childhood education with: proclamations, letters to editor, articles and events. See NAEYC.org for ideas and templates.
NJAEYC Northwest has requested the Morris County Freeholders to sign a proclamation declaring April month of the young child and to encourage all citizens to work to make a good investment in early childhood education in Morris County. We have also invited government officials to visit our daycare centers and preschools to show their support of the great work that we are all doing for our children.
Wednesday, February 24 at 7pm at Bridges to Learning in Rockaway join us to plan activities for your classroom or center for Month of the Young Child with other early childhood professionals. Please RSVP to Amanda at [email protected].
Let's keep the momentum going! President Obama has focused on Early Childhood Education and New Jersey won a Race to the Top Grant where a portion of that money was designated for early education. We hold the key to showing our local officials what we already know- that the play and education we are providing to young children is essential to their growth and development!
