READY, SET ... RELAY!

TIFT RELAY FOR LIFE READY TO LIGHT FLAME

Let's get ready to relay! Plus a special challenge to our Relayers...
VIDEO: Relay for Life

The annual  Relay For Life of Tift County  begins  at 7 p.m today,  Friday, April 24, and concludes at 1 a.m. at the  E.B. Hamilton Complex and Optimist Park.

More than 32 teams have already raised more than $35,000 for the American Cancer Society.

The Cancer Society's Relay For Life is the world's largest fundraising event to end cancer.

It unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, to remember loved ones lost and to take action to finish the fight against this disease.

The highlight of the event is the solemn Luminaria Ceremony at 9 p.m. today honoring those who have battled cancer.

Steeped in Appalachian music, Sunshine is a vocal stylist, one who instinctively knows how to interpret the nuances of a song.

She has performed regularly at the Grand Ole Opry and on Marty Stuart's Late Night Jam at the Ryman during CMA Music Fest.

She performs about 150 shows a year, and touring is a family affair. Her mother took a leap of faith and gave up her nursing career to travel. Father Randall Hamilton plays upright bass; her brother is on mandolin; Uncle Bobby is on drums; and Aunt Kristal sells merchandise.
