Holiday Greetings!

It's the holiday season again....and everyone will be busy thinking about their plans. As you navigate through this time, rest assured that I'll be working with you to keep your real estate in order - and I ain't talking turkey!!

Recently, I attended a real estate conference in Fort Lauderdale with RE/MAX agents from all over the country. Based on their input, the market is improving across the board. Especially those markets, like ours, that are vacation or second homes.

As you navigate the holidays, remember - other important dates in November are the 2nd (Deviled Egg Day), the 15th (Clean Your Refrigerator Day), the 23rd (National Cashew Day) and my favorite besides Thanksgiving is the 30th - Stay Home Because You Are Well Day!

Enjoy and stay safe!

The Warm and Cozy Home

If you're stuck up North and can't get down to sunny Florida, here are some mood-lifting ideas to make your home more welcoming and efficient this winter!

Cozy and Clever Energy Savers

Here's how to create a brighter and warmer home without using more energy or cranking up the thermostat.

1. Clean dirty light fixtures and dusty bulbs to make your home appear 30% brighter without turning on more lights.

2. Seal sneaky air leaks. It's not just window and door leaks killing your cozy vibe. Don't forget to plug stealthy gaps around recessed lights, electrical boxes, and wall outlets. Use a lit incense stick or scented candle to hunt down drafty spots while leaving behind a cozy scent.

Immunity Boosters

You'll feel coziest in a healthy indoor environment that keeps allergies at bay and reduces your chances of getting sick.

3. Get plants. Some indoor plants, like golden pothos and gerbera daisies, are particularly adept at sucking up nasty VOCs - the vapors emitted from household cleaners, paints, and dry cleaning. And since plants increase humidity levels, they help decrease household dust.

4. Vacuum while your thermostat is set to "fan on." This helps filter dust that gets kicked-up while cleaning. Just leave the fan on for about 15 minutes after you finish vacuuming and switch it back to "auto" afterward. HVAC blowers aren't intended to run all the time.

Festive Fall Wreath Ideas

Make a statement at Thanksgiving with these creative ideas for fall wreaths.

Colorful Fall Foliage

"Rake in the compliments with a wreath featuring brilliant autumn leaves. This works with maple, oak, sweet gum, hickory, dogwood-whatever is putting on a show in your yard. You can also make it with preserved leaves purchased at a crafts store or online."

Dried Flower and Herb

"Create a dazzling kaleidoscope of colors on your tabletop by mixing bunches of blooms and foliage in a rainbow of hues. The savory scents of the dried herbs will subtly enhance the aroma of a special meal. To illuminate your table, just add a glass hurricane and candle to the middle of the wreath. After displaying it flat as a centerpiece, you can hang it from a pretty ribbon to enjoy it from a different perspective."

"Pumpkins" and Acorns

"It's cute as can be, but don't call it pumpkin! It's actually pumpkin-on-a-stick eggplant (also called scarlet Chinese eggplant), which turns a brilliant red-orange color when it matures and begins to dry. Look for it at farmers' markets or in the floral sections of large supermarkets, or grow it yourself from seeds."
