Rethinking Security for the BYOD Era

It seems like nearly every day we hear about another company falling prey to a cyber threat, often resulting in data loss. The consumerization of IT and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) only exacerbates the issues since companies now have many more endpoints to protect.

Key Security Practices
  • Choose security questions where the answer is not easy to find and most people could not answer for you
  • Passwords should be at least 7 characters long and have at least 1 symbol or number
  • The combination of both uppercase and lowercase letters is a great way to create more secure passwords

With over 300 attendees and speakers carrying the theme of "Embracing, Creating, and Leading Change in your Business" throughout the day, I was recharged and inspired by last week's Economic Summit organized by the La Plata County Economic Development Alliance.

Roger Zalneraitis, executive director of the Alliance, said, "We want to make La Plata County the premier Rocky Mountain location to do business."

At Think, we couldn't agree more. In fact, we are ecstatic to announce that Think was nominated for Colorado Companies to Watch for 2015. We strive to deliver a valuable service, create quality jobs, and enrich our amazing community.

We are so thankful for all our customers and are very much looking forward to "change" in a proactive and positive way and uncovering the opportunities it brings to us.

Still Sunny for the Cloud:
Recent headlines shouldn't dissuade potential cloud users.

From television to newspaper, recent headlines have been filled with stories about security breaches to the cloud. Large companies such as Target have become the theme of discussion. It is time to look at the cloud, determine who can benefit from it, and why not to shy away from it.  We, at Think, believe this is a great opportunity to remind business owners why the cloud is a beneficial system and how to best protect important information such as data stored on the cloud.

Solving the Area's IT Talent Gap

What is rare, competed over, and once you find it, you shouldn't let it go?  The answer is information technology talent in the Durango job market. Many people who have read national headlines may question that statement with recent statistics about the national tech job market being quite promising.
WELCOME TO THINK!
We are pleased to introduce our two new hires. Both are Fort Lewis Alumni, just like Matt Glick our Founder and CIO.
