Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and the Library offers a unique gift for that special person in your life. Why not make a donation to the Library through our book donation program? A book will be "plated" in honor of your loved one and will remain as a reminder of your dedication for all the years that book circulates. Our Book Endowment Program also offers the opportunity to plate a new book each year for 10 years in honor of a special person in your life. Blind Date with a Book Month
|
  Feeling a little lonely this month? Ready for a new adventure? Come to the Library and try a "blind date" with a book throughout the month of February! Look for our Blind Date with a Book displays around the Library and pick up a festively wrapped book to check out. Read the clues on the outside of the book to determine if this potential "date" is for you. Do not unwrap your date until you get your book home, and be sure to "rate your date" when you return it to the Library! Who knows, this could be the beginning of a new and beautiful book love affair!
Looking for more Blind Date with a Book fun? Stop by our table throughout the week of February 8-14 to play the "Book Dating Game"! Ask questions of potential "book dates" and choose your perfect blind date to curl up with for Valentine's Day this year. |

16th Annual Phyllis Noar Puppetry Festival
|
 Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, the 16th Annual Phyllis Noar Puppetry Festival is set for two Sundays this February. Tickets cost $4 each and are available for purchase at the Library's circulation desk. Ticketholders must be ages 2 or 3 and up, depending on the performance.
On Sunday, February 8 at 2 p.m., Paper Moon Puppet Theatre will present, "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," for families with children ages 2 and up. This show is a modern re-telling of the classic story, with a family of bears at a national state park, and a feisty Goldilocks. There will be an interactive session before the performance. On Sunday, February 22 at 2 p.m., Spring Valley Puppet Theatre will present, "Jack and the Beanstalk," for families with children ages 3 and up. This show is a re-telling of the story in which Jack makes his own wishes come true. Following the performance there will be a demonstration of some of the puppets. |

World Literature Collection

The Youth Services Department is expanding its collection of children's books in world languages to better represent the diversity of the East Brunswick community. Picture books and non-fiction titles in Russian, Korean, Tagalog, Chinese, Hindi, Gujarati, and Tamil are being added in February. Youth Services librarians would love to hear your feedback on these new collections.

 For students and parents preparing for the upcoming PARCC standardized tests, the Library is ready to assist you. The most comprehensive way to study for the PARCC exam is to use the online test preparation service provided by Lumos Learning. The website includes study guides, videos, and practice tests which will be automatically scored to help students focus on areas that may need further study. This service requires an EBPL library card to accessed via this link on the children's home page. |

41st Annual Friends of the Library Book & Media Sale
|
 The 41st Annual Friends of the Library Book & Media Sale will be held from March 2 through March 8 at the Centre Court in the Brunswick Square Mall (755 NJ Route 18, East Brunswick). The sale, which annually draws thousands of people from across the region, is much anticipated by book bargain lovers. Thousands of books, videos, audio books, DVDs, and CDs for all ages and interests will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the East Brunswick Public Library.
An exclusive Preview Sale will be held on Monday, March 2 from 8-9 a.m. The cost is $25 per person at the door. The full Sale opens to the public at 10 a.m. On Tuesday, March 3, there will be a free children's event at 7 p.m.
