OLD MAN WINTER VISITING TIFTAREA IN COMING WEEK

The calendar may note that is only mid-November, but it will definitely feel like winter in Tifton during the coming days.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday nights are expected to fall into the bone-chilling 20ssays the National Weather Service. Yes, winter is making an appearance in South Georgia.

While today -- Friday, Nov. 14 -- is expected to have a high near 52 degrees, tonight's low is forecast to dip to freezing at 32 degrees. We will then see a slight warming trend, with high temperatures Sunday and Monday around 70 degrees. But come Monday night, temperatures drop into the 30s again, with lows forecast for Tuesday at 27 degrees and lows Wednesdays at 29 degrees.

The National Weather Service says a cold Arctic high pressure will plunge southeast into the region, bringing the coldest air of the season into Tifton and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, winter-like weather is covering most of the central and eastern U.S.

For most families, the holidays are an opportunity to be together, share memories, laugh, cry and celebrate. Not every holiday celebration goes smoothly, and when there are caregiving concerns, things are even more complicated. This program will provide some strategies and ideas to help make this time less stressful for caregivers and those in their care.

Also, you've been hearing Alzheimer's and brain research study results in the news.

Hear a round-up of recent studies and healthy opportunities.

And, Tifton needs an adult day care. Do you want to help make it happen locally?

Let's brainstorm and get it done!
