Student Volunteer Opportunities
This is how HISA's CEO started her HI career journey. Volunteering for HIC will give you the opportunity to gain health informatics / event management experience, meet new people in the field, network and attend sessions in your free time. Places will fill up quickly. If you are interested in being considered, just fill out this form.

The Hacking Health Connect Night in Melbourne this week saw a range of interested people come together to discuss Hacking Health @ HIC.

Details about the event and what to expect were discussed in an open forum by Greg Moran and Dr Louise Schaper. Projects are starting to be formed so keep an eye out on the Sparkboard as it starts to populate. HISA would like thank Georgia McDonald at The Wade Institute for hosting and providing catering for the event.

Our next lead-up event is the Practice Pitch Night on the 14th July. See you there!

HISA is glad to confirm that Luc Sirois is facilitating Hacking Health @ HIC. Luc is Co-founder of the international Hacking Health movement which advocates and promotes innovation in healthcare. Based in Canada Luc and the Hacking Health group can provide real international connections and network for teams and participants at the event. Watch Luc's video - he is excited to be visiting Melbourne Australia!

WEBINAR: Hear from US leader on self-managed IT for patients

HISA is pleased to announce the recently appointed Director of the National Library of Medicine (USA), Professor Patricia Flatley Brennan will be giving a prelude to her HIC keynote address as a webinar on 23 June at 11.30am.

This is a great opportunity to hear from a true innovator in patient-facing health technologies.

Also, a reminder that HISA members can view ANY past webinar here - even if you weren't originally registered!

Are you a nurse who's sick of doing paperwork?

Then register for the Nursing Informatics Conference 2016!

The NIA Conference will open your eyes to what's possible in digital health, specific to your needs as a nurse. As Australia's only dedicated event featuring nursing informatics presentations, NIA will provide a platform for nursing leadership, knowledge exchange, and debate the current and future health system.

Healthtech and Hype: Lessons from Theranos

The rise and fall of Theranos has seen the unravelling of this US based health-technology start-up, with the once heralded company now under criminal investigation and facing a class action. Join a panel of experts on Tuesday 5 July in Melbourne, for a discussion on the lessons from Theranos and the future implications for IVDs, personalised medicine and "disruptive" healthcare technology.

Clean data is good data!
Don't forget to update your details - you don't want to miss out!

Being a HISA member means you have access to a HEAP of benefits including presentations from previous events.
