Good Luck Amy and Brooke Peterson!

Contact Ministries would like to honor Amy Peterson for her many years of dedication to the people we serve everyday. In 2010 Amy was asked to help set up a free store for clients in the basement at Contact Ministries She has now been the manager of the the Basement Boutique for 6 years!  Amy talks about her experience, "I had no idea how much it would impact my life. However, I quickly realized it was more about the relationships than it was sorting donations."

Amy recruited, trained and worked with many volunteers to help run the Basement Boutique.  She says, "They were all the hands and feet of Jesus and ministered to the women who lived in our shelter every shift they worked." As part of job skills training the moms living in our Transitional Shelter volunteered in the Basement Boutique every week.  Amy's favorite part of her journey was getting to know all of the moms who have lived in the shelter over the past 6 years. She worked closely with the moms to teach, empower and encourage them. 

Amy's season as the Basement Boutique Manager had to come to an end because she and her husband sold their business of 14 years, The Closet Guy. They both have started new jobs and are entering into a new season of their
lives. Amy will continue supporting Contact Ministries and looking for new opportunities to serve in a different capacity.

Volunteer During the Summer
Here at Contact Ministries we are always in need of
volunteers. We have volunteer opportunities in the following areas:
Childcare- babysitting the children living in the Transitional Shelter; Basement Boutique- sorting and organizing donations. Front Desk-assisting walk in clients. 

Our volunteer hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 1pm.  We are looking people willing to volunteer on a monthly, bi-weekly or weekly basis for the summer. If you are interested click the link to fill out the

Contact Impact 2016 Golf Outing


Our 9th annual  Contact Impact Golf Outing was held on May 23rd at Illini Country Club. It was a perfect day for golfing and the event was successful!! The money raised at this event goes directly to the running and operating Contact Ministries. We want to thank the golf committee who organized the event  for all their time, resources and energy put into making it a success!

 We are so grateful for everyone who participated in and supported this year's golf outing!!
