Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue

Spring is in the air and love is all around. If you look you will see it; Dogs joyfully chasing balls and butterflies, birds lovingly protecting their nests for their young, and people with an extra "spring in their step" this time of year.

With so much love around, it is the season known for new beginnings, such as the birth of a new baby and newly weds starting a lifelong journey together. Sadly, it can also be a new beginning dealing with the loss of a loved one. But occasionally people are able to combine the sorrow with the joy and create real beauty. The following true story is a testament to that.

"It was springtime and the world was full of hope for a young couple who was soon to marry. Little did they know profound grief was headed their way. A few short months before they were to wed, the brides precious dog passed away.  She was devastated as she wanted her furry best friend with her on her special day, and she found a way to do just that.

She decided to cremate her precious companion at Chartiers Custom Pet Cremation and then had a small portion of her dogs cremains placed in a beautiful paw print pendant, suspended from a gorgeous blue heart. With Mothers Day soon approaching, the soon-to-be bride proudly gave this beautiful necklace to her own Mother on Mothers Day, as "grandma" also loved this dog dearly. As the bride handed the necklace to her mother she said, "Mom, please let me borrow this necklace to wear on my wedding day so that I can commemorate my dog in a loving tribute of something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue." The mother and daughter cried tears of joy at this lovely sentiment. And as the bride walked down the aisle on her wedding day, she smiled such joy knowing she had her dog close to heart on this special day."
