Summer Skin Tips
Summer
June/2014

Dear Friends-

Summer sun and temperatures provide you with the opportunity to spend more time outdoors doing the things you enjoy. However, the sun and temperatures come at a price and it's you skin that pays that price.  Please read over the following tips on how to look after your skin this summer.

1.- Understand how summer sun impacts your skin.- Be sure to look for UVA, UVB and UVC protection.
2. -Wear Sunscreen.
3.- Stay out of the sun between the hours of 10 a.m and 3 p.m.- This is considered the hottest part of the day during the summer and is the most damaging time.
4.- Wear protective clothing over your skin.- New fashions now have UV protection.
5.- Ditch the Tan Obsession.- Sunbathing or use of tanning bed increases your risk of damaging your skin and getting skin cancer.
6.- Give your skin a break.- Work out on the days when you won't need to slather on chemicals such as when its raining or overcast. Leave your makeup off as often as possible while on vacation to allow your skin to "breathe."
7.- Rinse skin after swimming.- Chlorinated water can dry out your skin.
8.- Avoid spraying perfume on your skin  in the sun.- Psoalens in perfume (especially the citrus ones) can permanently stain your skin when they react with the sun. Spray on your clothes instead.
9.- Eat healthy.- Healthy skin comes from eating well and summer is the ideal time to make dietary changes.
10.- Drink Plenty of WATER.- Water will both hydrate your skin and flush out toxins that can mar your complexion.
11. Examine your skin regularly.- At least once a month, check your skin for any moles that have changed shape or size or that hurt, itch, or bleed.
