If you want a performing arts center for our community, it is essential that you communicate that to your local elected officials before Noon on Wednesday, February 26. Those who are against any funding for the Arts are getting the attention of the Commission and if we are quiet, they will assume that there is no support.

 

The CRA, comprised of 4 County Commissioners and all 5 City Commissioners, will be considering changing the designation of the 1 cent sales tax away from arts projects to use those funds for non-arts related projects. If these funds are lost, it will make it extremely difficult to move forward with a Performing Arts Facility anytime in the forseeable future. Keeping these funds dedicated to the Arts allows for the Performing Arts Center to move forward when other resources become available.
