A new Purim App  is fun for the Whole Family
"Whack a Haman." Haman, what? Haman, the Purim villain. You can learn even more about this fun Jewish holiday by playing this addictive, yet educational game. You whack the Hamans that pop up by tapping them. Try not to whack the hamentashen!! When the questions pop up, try to answer them correctly first time. Your points will add up when you whack the Hamans or answer the questions correctly.

This game was created by an international partnership between Jewish Interactive, an Educational Trust based in South Africa and Israel, and 6th and 7th grade students from the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School here in Jacksonville..

The sixth graders wrote the questions that pop up at multiple points in the game, and seventh graders created the drawings, the score, the audio, and everything else but the questions. The game was animated, programmed and produced by Jewish Interactive. The Jewish Interactive team mentored the students throughout the project.

Tot Shabbat this Friday at 5:30 p.m.

RSVP to 733-7078.

Come to Temple from 4:00 - 7:00 for a Family Havdallah and get a taste of pita made from scratch, listen to the music of Tel Aviv, smell of the salty dead sea, look at the western wall, and lend a hand in the conservation of the dwindling water source in the Negev. From Haifa to Jerusalem there will be a place just for you as we celebrate.

Making the Most of Our Meeting with God

On Tuesday March 4, 11 and 18 at 7:00 p.m. Rabbi Cohen will lead a three-part learning series.  Join him and explore the themes, development and engagement of the prayers that comprise the Amidah. In the third and final session, class participants will be encouraged to craft their own prayers which will be used as part of Temple's Shabbat worship on March 21. This topic is near and dear to Rabbi Cohen, as he wrote his Rabbinic Thesis on the Daily Amidah. Attend one session, or all three... just make sure you don't miss out on this opportunity to participate.  No prior knowledge is expected and the entire community is welcome to participate.  RSVP by email or 733-7078.
