Here are a few highlights from the ongoing work at the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).
CVB Ready to Deliver Visitor Content for Super Bowl 50

Partnering with the City of Santa Clara, the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is working on a 32 page Santa Clara insert for a special Super Bowl 50 issue of Discover Magazine that will be distributed beginning January 29, 2016.

Discover Silicon Valley's monthly press run of 30,000 copies is the largest of any local monthly guide. Discover is distributed at more than 120 leading hotels in and around Silicon Valley, airport visitor information centers, convention & visitors bureaus, high tech companies, corporate housing, chambers of commerce, relocation companies, universities, and more.

Also, in recognition of Levi's Stadium hosting Super Bowl 50, the CVB has created a new campaign titled "50 Awesome Places to Eat in Santa Clara!" The new blog can be found at SantaClara.org under Places to Eat. It lists colorful photos and web links to 50 of the city's dining options. The "awesome" places to eat list highlights a wide variety of eateries from Character's Sports Bar & Grill at the Marriott to fine dining at Birk's Restaurant.

In addition to the CVB blog, there is a large amount of visitor information on the www.santaclara.org website and on numerous Visit Santa Clara social media channels managed by CVB staff. Super Bowl 50 is February 7, 2016 at Levi's Stadium.

Sales Team Assists in Successful College Football Championship Game Bid

The CVB's sales team obtained bids from Santa Clara hotels for sleeping room blocks for Levi's Stadium's successful bid for the 2019 College Football Playoff Championship game.

Cary Keesecker, Convention Sales & Services Manager, also followed-up with hotels to answer any bid-related questions. Staff will continue to assist on the hotel room blocks, offsite venues, and additional needs for this exciting event.

CVB Team Exhibits at Season Spectacular Tradeshow

The CVB's sales team recently exhibited at the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE) Season Spectacular tradeshow in Sacramento, the largest annual association industry tradeshow on the West Coast. The show is attended by more than 1,000 association professionals.

In addition to the CVB sales team of Annette Manhart, Sharon Covey, Cary Keesecker, and Chamber of Commerce and Convention-Visitors Bureau interim CEO Roy Truitt, there were several participating Santa Clara suppliers. Luz Espinoza, sales manager from the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara and Sara Bodzy, group sales manager at Levi's Stadium also participated as did Chamber of Commerce Chair of the Board Joe Sweeney.
