Summer Trainings

The summer is quickly approaching and I am looking forward to coming back to San Diego, both as a friend and teacher.  I have been working hard on refining the curriculum for the Yoga for a Happy Back Certification Program and have a great deal of new and exciting material to share!

If you are:
  • A Yoga Teacher who is interested in learning more
  • Interested in Yoga Therapy as a profession
  • Motivated to help individuals with back pain and injuries
  • A closet anatomy geek
  • All of the above
I invite you to join me for the full 100 Hour Yoga for a Happy Back Certification Program at Prana Yoga Center in La Jolla from July 18-27, 2014.  It will be a complete and deep exploration of anatomy, physiology, injuries and rehabilitation using Yoga as a healing modality. You will also receive training on the Great Yoga Wall for enhanced spinal traction.

In addition, I will be teaching a number of workshops including Advanced Anatomy, Exploration of the Sacroilliac Joint and a Yoga As Medicine Retreat this summer.

Please read on for more information and details.  I am attaching an article of mine that was published in LA Yoga for your reading pleasure.  Please contact me with any questions (just reply to this email).

Sending my love from Israel,

Rachel Krentzman

BACK PAIN:  ATTITUDE AND ASANA

This was the second in an ongoing series on the therapeutic applications of yoga to appear in LA YOGA Ayurveda and Health magazine. A copy of the article can be viewed at: www.layogamagazine.com

spine I clearly remember the moment when shooting pain in my back sent me down on my knees, unable to breathe. I remember the numbness and tingling in my right foot - no matter how much I commanded, my foot would not obey. As a physical therapist, I knew exactly what was happening, I just couldn't believe it was happening to me. I was young, healthy, active and a dedicated yoga practitioner. How could it be that I had herniated a disc in my lower back? The fear surrounding any significant injury began to surface. My main question was, "Would I be able to stay active and do the things I love, the activities that fulfill my soul and inspire me daily?"  Click here to read full article
