Let All Who Are Hungry Come and Eat

Whole School Family Engagement for Passover

Sunday, April 13,  9:30-12:00

Parents, grandparents and the extended family are invited for a morning of fun, learning and feeding the hungry.  We will all meet in the sanctuary for T'filah (worship) with Rabbis Lief and Cohen to begin promptly at 9:30 AM. Tzedakah will be collected at the door.

After T'filah, students will go to their classrooms and adults have a choice of three classes: How to Engage Your Child in the Seder with Rabbi Cohen; Passover-Easter Parallels with Rabbi Lief; and Slavery to Freedom Movement class with TIR parent and Yoga instructor Tanya Norenberg. All students and parents will then meet in the sanctuary for a program with Sulzbacher Center and JFCS, "Let All Who are Hungry Come and Eat," learning about food insecurity and hunger on the First Coast.

In the Passover spirit of helping those less fortunate than we, JFCS is collecting Passover food, specifically matzah, gefilte fish, macaroons and matzah ball soup mix. For Sulzbacher Center, we are collecting diapers, wipes and incontinence products for adults. In addition to donating these products, TIR eighth grade students will be making 150-200 sandwiches for Sulzbacher Center to distribute Sunday afternoon. All Tzedakah collected on Sunday will be donated to JFCS and Sulzbacher Center. If you are cleaning your pantries for the Passover holiday, please consider donating food for the Temple's ongoing efforts to support the JFCS Winn-Dixie Food Pantry through their FANN (Feed a Needy Neighbor) program.
