Ramona Parlor members are really looking forward to hosting this year's SoCal Weekend in October. We have booked rooms at the elegant Hilton Hotel on Valley Blvd in San Gabriel and prospective member and mayor of San Gabriel Julie Costanzo will be on hand to help us coordinate our event as she currently serves as Director of Sales at the hotel.

The fun begins on Friday afternoon. The Hilton has provided our group with a hospitality room. You can check in there to pick up a little libation and information about the rest of your weekend. There will also be help for check-in if you need it. Activities are planned all afternoon if you are not too tired and would like to hang out with some of your brothers.

Dozens of local restaurants are within easy walking   distance and include a deliciously diverse selection of foods.

Saturday morning enjoy a delicious breakfast at the caf. Meet at the Ramona Museum at 10:00am for a quick tour before lunch. Eat on your own at one of the award winning restaurants in the historic Mission District and then catch up with your brothers at 1:00pm for the dedication of the San Gabriel Mission Millrace recently uncovered during construction of an underground railway off Mission Drive.

Afterwards, head on back to the HILTON for an initiation ceremony at 4:30pm in the Hospitality Room. Cocktails will be offered at a no-host bar before dinner beginning at 5:00pm. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm. The theme of the plated dinner is Romance of the Ranchos.

Period dress is encouraged; otherwise wear something casually comfortable, but warm, as we are eating al fresco (weather permitting) on the rooftop of the hotel. The view is spectacular!

Sunday we meet again at Santa Anita Racetrack for

a Day at the Races. A delicious cold cut buffet will be served at 12:30pm and the first wave of thoroughbreds will run at 1:00pm. You may arrive as early as 10:00am if you would like to watch the workouts or enjoy a light breakfast. We are meeting at the Top of the Stretch so that we will be close to racetrack amenities (bar and restrooms) and we will also have a great view of the finish line!
