Happy Thanksgivukkah!

How cool is it the first day of Chanukah falls on Thanksgiving this year? Although Chanukah is usually celebrated while there is snow on the ground, the festival of lights brings family and friends together -- always resulting in warm, cozy memories. Lighting the Chanukiah, eating yummy potato latkes, scrumptious sufganiyot, and spinning the dreidel are activities we all love during those 8 crazy nights! Tomorrow we can sing "On the first day of Chanukah someone gave to me... Thanksgiving!" This holiday we have an even more meaningful reason to give as a way to say thanks; Thanksgivukkah!

  Socks Of Love

 Hi All,

This past Sunday, during our Ivriah Hanukkah Event, our students participated in the "Socks of Love" Program. Each older child was paired with a younger child, and altogether they filled 110 pairs of knee socks with personal care items.  These socks were delivered to the Homeless Shelter, where they will be distributed to people who are in need of such items.
Thank you to all of you, our Flint Jewish Community members for contributing the socks and personal care items for this project.  You gave our kids the opportunity to do a real mitzvah, and to do both well and good at the same time.  Thanks so very much for your support of our Ivriah service project!
